Amazing Mountain Photography

Via Veer's blog - The Skinny:
Mountain photography: it’s not just big chunks of rock
Mountains and mountain-culture are always awe inspiring. But just try to take a picture that stands above the average. The Banff Mountain Photography Competition recently announced this years winners from over 2100 entries.

There are some amazing photos here... I'd highly recommend that you check 'em out. You can view them all through the Banff Centre website, here.

Sunset at 'the Hilton'

This past August long-weekend, I had the pleasure of going rock climbing with my good friends and design colleagues, James Gillespie, Robert L. Peters and his lovely girlfriend, Evelin Richter. We spent the weekend climbing the cliffs north of Minaki (in Ontario), known as the 'Goosenecks', and camping at a nearby site dubbed 'the Hilton'. It was also my birthday weekend! It was an amazing and awesome time to say the least. This is a picture taken by James around sunset, one evening at the 'Hilton'.

Many thanks again to Rob for his excellent 'trad' climbing instruction (and for making sure we came back alive)! I've uploaded pictures from the weekend to Flickr.
